Privacy Policy

Your privacy is important to me and I never have nor never will share your contact information with a third party. I have created this Privacy Policy in order to explain what information is gathered from your visit to my Site and how such information may be used. It also explains your rights to access or change your information.

What is G’day Soufflé?

G’day Soufflé is a personal food and travel blog, operated by myself, Fran Flint. I am personally responsible for all the content in the blog and you can contact me at any time at gdaysouffle@gmail.com.

What Information Do I collect about you?

As a general policy, when you log onto my site, I do not request or collect personally identifiable information, such as your name, mailing address, or e-mail address. However, if you register to subscribe to my blog, you will be asked to provide your email address or if you leave a comment on any G’day Soufflé posts, you will be asked to provide information such as your name, email address and website address (optional).

If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.

Also, I may receive personally identifiable information if you send me an email message or otherwise contact me directly.

If you subscribe to my blog, you will receive an email notification regarding each new post. However, you will always have the right to unsubscribe and a link is included on all email communications to do so.

Information I may receive from third parties: I neither receive nor collect any information about you from third parties.

How I use the information about you?

To provide you with email notifications of new posts and other updates. When you register to subscribe to my blog, I will use your personal information (i.e. email address) to send you periodic notices of new posts or for any other relevant information.

To personalize your experience with my blog. When you leave a comment on my blog, you will be asked to provide your name, email address and website address (if relevant). This helps to provide an interactive experience between us in relation to my blog content.

For statistical purposes. I use analytical platforms such as Google Analytics to help me understand the broader demographic trends and specific interests of my blog visitors. The information gathered through these platforms may include your IP address, geographical location, information about the devices that you use to access G’day Soufflé, browser type, referral source, length of visit to the website, number of page views, the search queries you make on the website and similar information.

When using these analytical platforms, we do not link IP addresses to any information that is personally identifiable, which means that your session will be logged, but you remain anonymous to us. 

External Links For your convenience I may provide links to other websites and blogs (‘Third Party Sites’) that may be of interest to you.  We are not responsible for the privacy practices of these sites. If you choose to click on one of these external links, you should review their privacy policy to understand how that third party site collects and uses your personally identifiable information.

How do I protect your information?

I consider the confidentiality and security of your information to be of the utmost importance. I have ensured that all third parties that I use to operate my blog are compliant under the ‘General Data Protection Regulation’( GDPR) rules. These third parties include  Wordpress (my blog platform), Jetpack and Google Analytics. It also includes SiteLock, a cloud-based security tool that detects threats and repairs any security risks on my blog.

Retention of Personally Identifiable Information

I will retain your personal information for as long as necessary to provide you with the services that you have requested from me, such as your email address if you subscribe to my blog. If you email me with a question, I will answer you promptly and delete the email as soon as the correspondence is complete.

Cookies Policy

 Cookies are text files containing small amounts of information which your computer or mobile device downloads when you visit a website. They enable the site’s or service provider’s systems to recognize your browser and capture and remember certain information. We have the following types:

  • Required- these cookies are required to enable core site functionality, such as a visitor being able to log-on to my site.
  • When visitors to my site leave a comment on a blog post, they will have a cookie set on their computer. For convenience sake, this cookie will then allow them to access my site in the future without having to re-type their information.
  • Functional- these cookies allow us to analyze site usage, so we can measure and improve performance. User data is anonymous.
  • Social Media cookies: I use social media icons on my blog such as ‘like’ and ‘share’ buttons for Facebook and Pinterest. I have no control or liability over their cookies, so you should check the relevant third party’s cookie policy for more information.

You have certain rights in relation to your Personally Identifiable Information. You can access the information I hold about you and confirm that it remains correct and up-to-date or choose whether or not you wish to continue to receive material from me. You can also withdraw your consent to receive electronic messages at any time by clicking the “unsubscribe” link at the bottom of each email notification. Please note that we review our privacy practices from time to time, and that these practices are subject to change. We will notify you of any material change to this Privacy Policy by posting a notice on my Site’s homepage and by changing the effective date (located at the bottom of this paragraph).
